We at Radius Gallery are overjoyed to present Contre/philia (Sep 15 - OCT 26) featuring new artworks by Missoula's own Courtney Blazon.

 

In her distinctive and inimitable style, Blazon’s new series of large, colorful drawings explores animals as cultural icons—with each drawing a meditation on one animal's universe in the context of literature, history, natural history, mythology, fables and popular cultural.

Courtney Blazon is an artist and illustrator living and working in Missoula, MT. She is a graduate of Parsons School of Design where she received her BFA in Illustration. Her work has been exhibited at the Missoula Art Museum, the Holter Museum of Art in Helena, the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art in Great Falls, as well as venues in Seattle, Portland, New York, Philadelphia, Baton Rouge, San Francisco, Jackson, WY, and elsewhere. Blazon's work has been featured in New American Paintings, Studio Visit Magazine, and juxtapoz.com. She is the co-organizer of the popular Montana MADE Fairs, and she is a past recipient of a Montana Arts Council Artists Innovation Award.
