Known as the fastest animal in the world, the peregrine falcon’s stoop has been clocked at 242 mph. “Fight and Flight” refers to this raptor confronting headlong the storm/wind turbulence/environment. I painted the look in his eye to echo that of Michelangelo’s David- intense fear, yet resolved to battle – instinctively doing what needed to be accomplished and powerfully moving forward without hesitation.
