Chris Kelsey's recent work is about change. He uses geometric forms and the suggestion of geologic forces to portray the constant change in our world, society and relationships. He creates compositions that appear to be shifting or unstable, expressions of how tenuous our world can be.
Kelsey was raised in Billings, Montana, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montana State University where he studied photography and sculpture. While there he also studied ceramics with Marcia Selsor. Kelsey is now a full-time studio artist living in Spokane, WA, where he co-owns Trackside Studio Ceramic Art Gallery.`He recently contributed the large art installation "Rhythmic Flow" to the new AC Hotel in Missoula.
